I had an amazing night last night with some great friends at Art n Vino. If you are not familiar with this kind of thing, Art n Vino is a BYOB paint and sip studio (there may be one in your area, just called something different). You bring your favorite bottle of wine or beverage of choice, invite friends and enjoy step-by-step instruction by experienced artists. You register and pay ahead of time by going online and picking which kind of painting you would like to do and see what day it is offered and pay for that day. A 2.5 hour class is $36 and a 3 hour class is $40 – both come with a pre-outlined canvas and professional painting instructions for the class as well as the paint, apron, wine glasses, ice, corkscrews and water. They let you bring snacks, desserts and of course the wine or beverage of choice. The best part about it is that you don’t need to have any artistic experience in order to do this and if you mess up, the artists are on hand to help fix any mistakes you have made. This was my fourth time doing this, and I have left each time with an awesome looking painting – and I am by far an artist.
It is a very relaxed environment. The teacher paints along with the class and the canvas is also broadcasted on a bigger screen tv for people to see all over the room. The painting we chose to do yesterday was a baby giraffe. My friend had messaged me asking if I would want to do this and I was very excited. I really wanted to do this particular painting because my family and I just went to Animal Adventure Park and saw Taj, the baby giraffe, and I feel like this painting could be a reminder to my kids of that experience.
I have included some pictures of last night to give an idea of how it works. If you have the opportunity to do something like this in your area – do it! It really is a fun and relaxing time! If you’ve done something like this before, comment below on your experiences.
