We need to catch up! This has probably been the longest hiatus I have had on my blog. It’s been quite some time since my last post and I am sorry. Everything going on in the world and society has just been A LOT. The hate, anger, the politics, COVID-19….it’s just all too overwhelming and I honestly needed a break. I have not have the motivation or desire to write a blog post in some time.
But, things are beginning to settle down here (I think). So I wanted to give you an update of what I have been up to and catch you up on what’s been going on.
Work
I am currently back in my office – we went back in late June. Presently we are doing a mixture of telehealth and face to face sessions for clients to minimize the number of people in the building. We have taken a number of precautions including increased sanitation, temperature checks and wellness surveys at the door and overall it has been a good transition back into the office. We wear masks during our sessions (both therapist and clients) and really no one has had any issues with these new protocols. So far, things have gone smoothly and it has been nice to get back in my office and see my clients.
School
Schools in our area are all over the place in terms of what they are deciding for the fall. My daughters’ school has not sent out any indication of what they will be doing as this post is being published. After careful thought and consideration based on a number of factors, my husband and I made the decision to cyber our daughters for this year. It gives me peace of mind, and helps me plan for the year. Luckily my husband is home during the day, so he can help the girls out with this transition. They are bummed, but I think this is the best decision for my family at this time.
Summer Life
We have not gone anywhere on vacation this summer and really do not have plans to go anywhere either. I would love to go to the beach and visit my dad, but that does not look feasible. So for now we are staying put, working, and spending a lot of time in our pool, taking walks, fishing, and biking/scooting. Before we know it summer will be over. Which is completely crazy to think about.
Fall Plans
As I said before, we will be doing cyber school for the 2020/2021 school year. In terms of sports, I did sign both of my girls up for soccer for the fall season. That sounds contradictory, however, with the safety measures that our soccer team has put in place, I am confident that it will be fine for this season. It will not be the same as it usually is, but I think that can be said for everything at this point.
I am taking everything day by day and seeing how it goes. What is good for one family, is not necessarily the same for the next and that is ok. I hope everyone reading this and their families are well. I will be back soon to post about getting ready for back to school so check back soon for that. For now, check out my Pinterest page for awesome back to school organization ideas and meal planning!
Thanks for stopping by & giving me the opportunity to catch up with you! Let me know what you have all been up to or what your plans for the fall are in the comments!
Have a great night!
