One of my favorite things to read on other people’s blogs is a day in their life. I like to get ideas on how other people balance work and home life. For me, no two days are really the same – there are different activities, different days that I work late and then certain days that my husband works at night. He helps me a lot during the day with taking care of Kylie, picking up Mackenzie from school, and keeping them busy. Some nights he cooks which is a blessing. Without him my days and nights would be 100 times more hectic than they are now. So here is what a day in my life looks like – this was my Tuesday of last week.
6:00am – My alarm goes off. I roll out of bed and hop in the shower.
6:20am – Get dressed, do my hair and makeup.
6:50am – Go downstairs, make myself some coffee, take a few sips and head back upstairs.
7:00am – Wake up Mackenzie.
7:05am – Go back downstairs, finish putting together lunches, take my vitamins, pour some cereal for Mackenzie.
7:20am – Look at news and the weather on my phone.
7:25am – Mackenzie comes downstairs to eat, we talk while she sits at the table eating her cereal.
7:35am – Head out the door with Mackenzie and walk her to school.
7:45am – Get back home, make a chocolate milk for Kylie and bring it to her while she watches cartoons.
7:50am – straighten upstairs, watch 5 minutes of Mickey Mouse and cuddle a bit.
8:00am – Say goodbye to the hubby and Kylie and head to work.
8:10am – Arrive at work, answer emails, check my voicemail, prepare for the sessions of the day (get worksheets ready, set up toys).
9:00am – First session of the day.
10:00am – Go downstairs to the med clinic to translate for 2 medication appointments.
11:00am – Second session of the day.
12:00pm – Third session.
1:00pm – Fourth session.
2:00-2:30pm – Lunch
2:30-4:00pm – Translate for an evaluation in the med clinic.
4:00pm – Last session of the day.
5:00pm – Rush home to pick up Kenzie to head to soccer practice (which started at 5pm).
6:00pm – Practice is over, head back home.
6:15pm – Dish out dinner and eat with the family.
7:00pm – Wash the dishes.
7:15pm – Watch a little bit of TV.
7:45pm – Bath time.
8:15pm – Bedtime stories & bedtime.
8:30pm – Head back downstairs to watch a movie with hubby & just relax. We watched The Mummy with Tom Cruise.
And then by 10pm I am dragging myself upstairs because I am so tired and probably by 1015 I am fast asleep – only to wake up at 6am the next day and repeat the day. What’s a day in your life like?
