Farmers Market Finds

Every Thursday from 10am-4pm there is a farmers market downtown. This past Thursday I had the opportunity to walk down and see what kinds of things were being sold. I love fresh fruit and vegetables so the opportunity to buy them from a farm and buy local is just an opportunity I could not pass up.

I did not have a lot of time to walk around and browse since I was on a lunch break from work, but I did see a lot that looked amazing. I ended up purchasing fresh bread (a French baguette), a container of peaches and an Aloe Vera plant. Kind of a random mashup of things but the Aloe Vera I could not pass up. I had a huge Aloe Vera plant about two years ago and tragically it got knocked over and was pretty much unsalvageable. When I saw the little Aloe Vera plant for only $2, I was so excited to grow it again. It is a great medicinal aide and also does amazing things for the hair. It something that I love to have around the house. The peaches I bought because I love peaches and these ones looked fantastic – ripe and fresh, and they were super juicy and delicious. The bread I bought to go with dinner and to maybe have in the morning for breakfast with some butter. That was also crusty and amazing.

So the picture to the right shows what I bought this time around at the market – $2 for Aloe Vera, $4 for peaches, and $2.25 for a French Baguette – $8.25 in total. In my opinion, totally worth it. If you are in the area you should check them out – there are food trucks, a blow up castle for kids, and tons of stuff for sale (jewelry, jams, veggies, fruit and more). It is a lot of fun – even if you just want to walk around. I suggest walking, because parking on Farmers Market days is an absolute nightmare.

Happy Marketing!
