Today we went to Lahey’s Family Fun Park to have a little fun and do things with the kids we have never done before. It is located in Clarks Summit, PA and has a bunch of different things that are fun for both kids and adults. There is a soft playground, batting cages, bumper boats, go karts, and miniature golf. You can do certain things individually or you can buy things in one of the ten packages that are offered. We decided on buying packages because we wanted to do the bumper boats, golf, go karts, and playground.
We decided to do the miniature golf course first since we knew it would be the hardest for the kids because they have never played before. We chose the par 45 Falls Course – an 18 hole course going around the water. It was fun – the girls were good with it but by hole 10, they were pretty much over it. We did finish to 18, it took a little over an hour to do so. There weren’t any hazards (wind mills or super tricky or fun holes). I thought the course was a little boring compared to some that I have played at but truthfully that made it better for the kids because it was pretty straight forward.
The second thing we ended up doing was the bumper boats. This was so much fun! We each got in a boat, with Kylie going in with my husband. We drove the boats around the lake, bumping into one another and splashing around. It was a lot of fun. I was a little worried about the kids being in the boats with no life jackets on – but the attendants are super helpful and the boats are really sturdy so everyone was safe.
After the bumper boats we made our way the go kart track. This was so much fun. The track was pretty impressive. There was an overpass and traffic lights and it was a pretty long track with twists and turns making it interesting. Mackenzie sat with me and Kylie went with my husband and we raced around the track. We got to the 3rd lap and it started to rain. They brought us in and just as we pulled into the little garage holding area for the go karts -the skies opened up and it poured. We decided to make a run for it and go inside to let the kids play on the soft playground and take advantage of the arcades. Soaked, we made it inside, dried up and the kids went to the soft playground and my husband and I played some arcades together. The kids came down and played some games too.
The day was a lot of fun. The bumper boats and the go-karts made the trip worth it. For the 4 of us doing all of the above activities, it cost $72. They do have food there, but it is concession type food and if you are looking for more wholesome, healthier options, I would eat before coming. We stopped at a local diner and ate lunch prior to going. It was about 430pm by the time we left – and the kids both fell asleep on the ride home – a sign that it was a really good day. So if you’re in the area of Clarks Summit and looking for something to do – Lahey’s Family Fun Park is definitely a cool place with a lot of things to do in both rain and shine. We will definitely be back.
