This year I wanted to change up how I am doing menu planning and wanted to try to do it on a monthly rather than a weekly basis. I will still grocery shop on a weekly basis, but with the menu set in advance, it will save me time from having to figure out what I want on my menu each week. I have put my menu plan in calendar form (I bought the calendar for $1 at Dollar Tree), and found all the recipes either online (Pinterest for the win!) or they are recipes that have been in my family for years (like here and here). Most recipes have only a few ingredients, and are easy meals for busy families. I wanted to create something that will not only save me time, but also cut down the amount we were spending eating out/ordering take out. You will see on the menu that I love using my slow cooker, especially on Mondays because most of the time I don’t get home until 8pm.
For the first week the menu plan is as follows:
January 1st-7th
Mon – Leftovers/Brunch (My mother-in-law is making a huge Pernil for New Year’s Eve so we will munch on that all day)
Tues – Crock Pot Beef & Noodles
Wed – Baked Spaghetti
Thurs – Tacos
Fri – Pizza
Sat – Meatloaf
Sun – Crock Pot Turkey Breast
January is the month of new beginnings, so let’s try and see how a new menu plan works out. If you are interested in my menu plan for the month of January, check it out below. Most of the recipes on my menu plan can be found through my Pinterest Page here. Be sure to follow me on Pinterest too! Leave a note in the comments about what’s on your meal plan for January!
