Oven Baked French Fries

Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m coming at ya with another recipe, this time for my fav side, French fries. I don’t know about where you are but Spring is definitely trying to stay here in Northeast Pa. It is on the chillier side, but there have been some really nice days mixed in. Yesterday we grilled for the first time this season, and it was fabulous. It’s exciting to think that nicer, warmer weather will be here soon to stay.

We had tacos on our meal plan for dinner, but I changed it to hamburgers and they were delicious. I paired the burgers with some oven baked French fries, and I wanted to share this awesome recipe with you all. These fries are healthier because they are made in the oven, but they have amazing flavor. They are perfect to pair with whatever you plan on grilling this spring and summer season.

Oven Baked French Fries Recipe

Ingredients

3 large Idaho potatoes

Olive oil (about 3 tbsp)

Chili powder (I do it to taste, the more you put, the spicier the fries)

Garlic powder (also to taste, depending on how much you like garlic)

Instructions

Wash potatoes and peel

Cut potatoes in half, then in slices length-wise. Cut slices into slivers to get the French fry shape.

Seasoned fries
Fries all seasoned ready for the oven

Place on baking sheet and coat in olive oil (about 3 tbsp), toss around to coat on both sides.

Sprinkle garlic and chili powder and toss again, coating both sides with seasoning.

Place in 400 degree oven for about 50 minutes, until crispy on the outside.

This is a super simple recipe, but really delicious. My kids like these fries with less seasoning, as the chili powder definitely gives the fries a bit of zest to them. It’s a great way to dress up your boring French fry recipe. Follow me on Pinterest to see more awesome recipe ideas. Let me know in the comments what your favorite sides for grilling are!
