Well I don’t know how everyone else feels, but July flew by for me. In fact, this whole summer just seems to be flying. It’s already August 6th! I wanted to give a recap of how I did with my goals for July and discuss my goals for August.
I had 4 goals for July:
Goal #1: Complete University workshop. The university where I teach online offers a ton of workshops that faculty members can take advantage of to learn new skills or brush up on old ones. I have been wanting to take one for a while and I just signed up for the Positive Psychology in the Classroom workshop that is set to start on July 18th.
–This one was half accomplished. I began the workshop and then on day the University website had technical problems and the workshop was moved to September. So this is to be continued.
Goal #2: Start a new book. I don’t really get a lot of time to read, but when I do I really enjoy it. I want to start a new book for the summer.
–This goal is completed. I read Sleeping Arrangements by Madeleine Wickham. It was an easy read – a little too predictable and not really my kind of story. It was given to me and I wanted to see what it was about – I finished it, but it was not the best book I ever read.
Goal #3: Post at least 3x a week. I am really loving sharing things on my blog so I want to make it more consistent and blog at least 3 times a week.
–This goal was pretty much accomplished. I think there may have been one week I posted less, and one week I posted more, so it averaged out to about 3 times a week.
Goal #4: Begin T-25 exercises again. I purchased this program a while back (3 years ago) and I liked it then. It’s 25 minute exercises 6 days a week and they really do kick your butt. I just found out from my doctor that my blood pressure has been high so I want to consistently exercise to try and get it down.
–This goal was not accomplished and I am a little disappointed. I battled a stomach bug and 6 migraines this month, so I really did not get into exercise at all. It’s going to be something I am going to keep trying to work into my schedule.
So not too bad, 2/4 of my goals – which should have been 3/4, but it is what it is.
My goals for August are somewhat similar.
Goal #1: Continue to post at least 3 times a week on here.
Goal #2: Try a new recipe. I love perusing Pinterest for some new ideas, so I want to bring one of those ideas to fruition and try it out.
Goal #3: Walk to work at least 1x a week. Trying to save money in gas as well as get some exercise in.
I only have 3 goals this month because with back to school and soccer starting, I know it’s going to be a busy month. I love August because it’s still summer and it’s the beginning of my favorite time of year – fall. So I wish you all a good month – if you have any goals, post them here, tell me what you’re working on. Happy August!
